Independent Dublin Restaurant Wins Deliveroo Award

Family-run Greek restaurant Yeeros has won Deliveroo’s Independent Restaurant of the Year.

The Dublin restaurant won the coveted honour over award-winning businesses across Ireland and the UK.

The award was judged by food critic and writer Jimi Famurewa in collaboration with Deliveroo’s chief executive and founder, Will Shu.

Judging

As part of the judging, Famurewa travelled across Ireland and the UK to visit each shortlisted regional restaurant.

The restaurants were scored against criteria including brand personality, food quality, packaging and presentation, customer reviews, and environmental consciousness.

Yeeros impressed Famurewa with its development of cooking methods, innovating Greek classics and giving them a modern twist.

The critic also mentioned the glowing customer reviews, the family-focused approach, and the sense of community around the restaurant.

The packaging shows the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability.

By creating bespoke compostable packaging with a different box designed specifically for each dish on the menu, Yeeros has shown the full extent of its care for the planet.

‘A Big Honour’

Speaking about the results, the managing director of Yeeros, George Stamopoulos, called the award a “fantastic achievement for the business”.

Stamopoulos said, “It was always our vision to create an authentic Greek street food concept in Ireland – somewhere I’d be happy to go to!

“It is a big honour for me and the entire Yeeros team, as well as an acknowledgement of the great work put in every day in our restaurants to maintain our high standards in quality food and excellent customer service.”

Famurewa said that it was an honour to tour the shortlisted restaurants, and that it was challenging to pick a winner.

On Yeeros, Famurewa said that the restaurant “ticked every box”.

He continued, “Innovation is at the heart of everything they do, from their food to their packaging, and, most importantly, everyone who orders from Yeeros becomes part of their family.
