Checkout magazine has been named the 'Business To Business Magazine Of The Year (More Than 5,000 Circulation) at the Irish Magazine Awards, held at the Radisson Blu Golden Lane hotel in Dublin.
Award judges praised Checkout for "providing insightful content, being adept at identifying emerging trends, and discussing the issues of its sector. The magazine is distinctly Irish in perspective, but has a keen awareness of the global retail market."
Judges also noted the launch of the Checkout News App as well as a new-look website "to complement its print edition and its weekly Retail Intelligence e-news service. All this contributed to making Checkout a winner."
Other nominees in the category included Accounting & Business Ireland, ShelfLife, Law Society Gazette and Hospitality Ireland.
Commenting on the award, Stephen Wynne-Jones, editor, Checkout, said, "This award is confirmation of Checkout's position as the market-leading trade publication in the grocery retail and FMCG sectors. As we approach our 40th anniversary (January 2015), Checkout continues to set the news agenda, rather than follow it, and I would like to personally thank all our readers and clients for continuing to support us.
"We look forward to working with you in 2015, when we will be launching a brand new event, as well as a refresh for Checkout.ie."
Grace Aungier, CEO, Magazines Ireland said, “This has been another fantastic year for the awards. I would like to congratulate all of our winners and finalists on the outstanding quality of their submissions and their commitment to the highest quality of magazine publishing.”
