Coca-Cola was the biggest spender on Outdoor advertising in July in the Food & Drink category, according to the latest Posterwatch report from PML Group.
The drinks giant, which also tops the Checkout Top 100 Brands list this year, accounted for €436k worth of outdoor spend for the latest installment of its 'Share a Coke' campaign, building on last year's successful rollout.
Coca-Cola's spend during the period was well ahead of that of HB, which accounted for €257k worth of spend, while The Natural Confectionery Company accounted for €198k worth of spend.
Coca-Cola also spent heavily to promote its Coke Zero Dublinbikes initiative in the period, which accounted for €175k worth of spend.
"Soft Drinks ooh activity also more than doubled from 2013, with notable campaigns for Coca-Cola, Coke Zero – Dublinbikes, 7Up Free Tropical Splash, Lucozade Energy and Capri Sun," PML Group said in a statement.
Overall, Beers & Ciders accounted for the most Outdoor spend by category, with €1.43 million worth of spend. Soft Drinks accounted for €1.13 million worth of spend, while Confectionery & Snacking accounted for €983k worth of spend.
The figures in the Posterwatch report are based on published media owner rate cards, and refer to display values only.
