Dunnes Stores Opens First In-Store Hairdressers

Following on from its successful innovations in the fashion arena, Dunnes Stores is now further developing its credentials in the style stakes with the opening of its first in-store hair and beauty salon.

The new salon opened yesterday (3 April) in Dunnes Stores Henry Street store, on the ground floor just inside the front door.

Grocery Retail First
The retailer has collaborated with a number of designers in recent years, including Paul Costelloe, Lennon Courtney and Joanne Hynes, and is now teaming up with Dublin-based salon group Blow Salon to become the first grocery retailer to open a hairdressing salon in-store.

Blow Salon shared the news of their partnership with the retailer via Instagram.

The salon accompanied the post with the caption: “We are delighted to announce a strategic alliance with Dunnes Stores. We are opening our first salon in Dunnes Stores Henry Street on April 3rd and will offer dry blow dries, upstyles, nails, threading tinting, lashes and makeup services. We would love to welcome you to our Dunnes Stores salon if you are in the neighbourhood and with this post, we would like to offer you complimentary nails when you have your hair done.”

The news comes after Arnotts and Penneys, both on Henry Street, opened hair salons last year.
