Green Isle Foods Holding Company Sees Turnover Down 2.5% in 2014

Beverley House (9000) Limited, which trades in Ireland as Green Isle Foods, has posted turnover of £252.3 million for the 53 weeks ending 2 August 2014.

This is down 2.5% on the previous year, when the business posted turnover of £258.8 million.

The business, which is part of Boparan Holdings, posted a loss for the period of £7.8 million; however this includes exceptional costs of £7.99 million, relating to the impairment of fixed assets at its Portumna site in Galway, and restructuring and pension costs.

Operating profit margin (before exceptional items) stood at 3.3%. The company spent approximately £1.66 million on research and development in the period.

In their report, directors said that the business' main customers are "the UK's leading supermarkets, and the strength of these customers, combined with competitive pressures in the industry, represent continuing rises which could result in lost sales to key competitors."
