Irish Brands Take Part In 'World Tour By SIAL' Judging Process

Tayto Popcorners, LowLow Snack Pack, Fusion And Street, Parrot Bay and Old Time Zaconey are the Irish brands represented in the 2014 'World Tour By SIAL' judging process, the winner of which will be announced at the SIAL trade fair in Paris in October.
The 'World Tour By SIAL' awards programme seeks to showcase the most innovative trends in retail markets around the world, and incorporates products from 28 countries around the world.
Presentations on each of the products entered took place yesterday in Paris, with voting scheduled to take place later this morning. Checkout magazine is proud to represent Ireland as part of the judging process for the World Tour By SIAL.
Products that caught the eye included 'Teapops' from Canada (a gluten-free all natural ice lolly for children), 'Fakeer' from the Czech Republic (an all-natural energy drink), Chocolate flavoured olive oil from Greece, 'Drop of Freshness' from Japan (a fresh soy sauce product that automatically reseals), 'Cedar Milk' from Russia (a milk product derived from cedar trees in Siberia), and 'United Tastes of Africa' from South Africa (a range of soups and sauces featuring recipes from around the African continent).
Other global publications involved in the judging process include The Grocer (UK), Rundschau für den Lebensmittelhandel (Germany), Gondola (Belgium), Grocery Headquarters (US), Largo Consumo (Italy) and Shokuhin Shogyo (Japan).
