Did you know?... Subway has unveiled the new additions to its plant-based menu for 2021 – the vegan T.L.C. (Tastes Like Chicken) Sub and Vegan Double Choc Cookie. The plant-based T.L.C. Sub is packed with a similar flavour of the original, made with a recipe designed to mimic Subway’s roast chicken breast strips, and available with slices of Violife vegan cheese, it said. The T.L.C. is fully customisable and is available as a 6-inch or Footlong Sub, a salad or a wrap for even more choice.

The company said full-price sales in the Christmas trading period were down -1.1% on last year, beating its central guidance of -8% given in October, despite the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on trading in stores.

AB InBev has been burdened by debt after its 2016 takeover of nearest rival SABMiller and has made deleveraging a priority, selling its Australian operations and even trying to launch an initial public offering in Hong Kong for its Asia operations. AB InBev separately said the deal would allow it to generate proceeds to repay debt and create shareholder value and added it would retain operational control of the plants.
