Did you know?... UK retailer Waitrose & Partners has removed plastic packaging from multi-pack cans of its bestselling staples. The idea is being tested on essential Waitrose's baked beans, chopped tomatoes, plum tomatoes, and sweetcorn. The initiative will help the retailer to remove 18 tonnes of single-use plastics from its operations.

Did you know?... POPAI arrives in Dublin on 7 November for a unique Breakfast Seminar. Irish Convenience & Shopper Report: It conducted broad fieldwork to get a snapshot of P-O-P display and promotional mechanics used in the Irish convenience sector, carrying out store audits in a range of retailers both north and south of the border. Did you know?... Italy has approved a new tax on digital companies, including US tech giants, as part of its 2020 draft budget on Wednesday, a move that could draw threats of retaliation from Washington, reports Reuters. The levy, due to be introduced from next year, will oblige companies such as Facebook, Google and Amazon, to pay a 3% levy on internet transactions, according to a text of the draft budget.

Did you know?...  2 Sisters Food Group has offered to employ workers of Tomlinsons Dairies after the business collapsed last week. The food company's poultry processing unit in Sandycroft has around 120 full-time openings in various roles ranging from packing, dispatch, and preparation.
