Did you know… Former Lidl Sweden chief executive Conor Boyle will be moving to a new post in Lidl Northern Ireland? According to The Belfast Telegraph, Boyle has worked for the discounter since 2002 and was made chief executive of the Swedish division in August 2013. Lidl currently boasts 5.2% market share in Northern Ireland, up from 4.4% the previous year.

Did you know... Quality Butchers in Ballyfermot, Co. Dublin, has reopened thanks to the backing of a mysterious investor? The Echo reported that the business was forced to close on January 30, with staff being made immediately redundant, but was able to reopen just five days later after a new backer took on the lease.

Did you know... Aldi will be selling a range of coffee products from Thursday 3rd March? Among the items on offer will be a coffee capsule machine priced at €69.99, coffee pods, milk heaters/frothers, and espresso and coffee cups. All products will be available in 122 Aldi stores around Ireland.

Did you know... Glenullin GAC in Co. Derry has become the first ever GAA club to open a supermarket on its grounds? According to UTV.ie, the Costcutter store has been dubbed the Eagle Glen supermarket, after the club’s name, ‘Glen of the Eagle’.

Did you know… A new Mitchelstown development by Ornua could ‘reignite tensions in the dairy sector’, The Irish Times has reported? According to the paper, Ornua is in the midst of a major expansion drive, and the butter processing plant, called Kerrygold Park, will see it go head to head with its members for the first time - Dairygold, which sits on the Ornua board, is located right beside the new facility.

Did you know... Three food processing companies are among six from the Northern Ireland agri-food industry included in a major report by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSE Group) on the UK’s 1,000 Most Inspiring Companies? The study lists Ballygarvey Free-Range Eggs from Ballymena, Genesis Crafty of Magherafelt and Unimush Ireland, Armagh, among a total of 21 companies from Northern Ireland.

Did you know… Staff at Tesco Lisburn have received a National Charity Partnership Charity Award? The award is in recognition of the store’s Wheels4Kris event, which has raised £9,400 in two years for Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation, the Dromore Leader reported.
