Did You Know ... Mace is supporting Mental Health Ireland in aid of their ‘Smiley Pancake Campaign’? The campaign asks customers to make or buy a pancake, then share their creation online with the #smiley pancake tag, and texting MHI to 50300 to donate €4 to the charity.
Did You Know ... WellFest, sponsored by KBC, has announced its line-up for 2017? WellFest is Ireland’s only health, fitness and wellness festival, and will take place over the weekend of 6 and 7 May in Dublin’s Herbert Park. The programme was launched by Roz Purcell and the festival will feature Joe Wicks The Body Coach, The Happy Pear, Coach Kavanagh, among others.
Did You Know ... Farid Derradji has been named Aramark’s Chef of the Year Ireland? Derradji has over 24 years’ experience and currently works for Symantec. Frank Gleeson, MD of Aramark Northern Europe said, “Congratulations to Farid on his well-deserved win. The level of commitment, skill, practice and nerve necessary to perform well at these competitions is incredible.”
Did You Know ... Aldi are introducing coffee machines for sale in 128 Aldi stores from 9 March? The capsule machines, retailing at €59.99, will provide barista-style coffee for home consumers. Aldi will also sell a core range of Alcafé pods for use with the machine.
Did You Know ... Kildare-based food processor Dawn Farms is investing more than €25 million into its ‘meat science’ innovation centre? The company develops food technology for meat to be used in ready-made meals, frozen pizza toppings and sliced ham and chicken for deli bars.
Did You Know ... A Dunnes Stores worker has been awarded €94,000 by the High Court? The worker suffered injuries in the retailer's Newbridge branch as a result of a store safety concern that had previously been brought up at a health and safety meeting. Mr Justice Bernard Barton ruled in her favour as a result.
