Did You Know… Subway has announced that 408 jobs at stores will be created by 2020? This expansion plan sets out to create 51 new stores in Ireland and Northern Ireland in response to a demand for affordable, healthier choices.
Did You Know… University College Dublin has awarded O’Kale Krisp a prize of €3,000? The prize, which aims to support start-ups in developing, was given to UCD undergraduates Olsin McElhinney and Jack Parsons. The pair founded O’Kale Krisps, which is now sold in 28 stores across Ireland, reported by The Business Post.
Did You Know… Herbalife has announced plans to push for greater sales in Great Britain and Ireland? The company has been campaigning in Britain for the past few months, and will reportedly continue to advertise in Ireland, according to The Business Post.
Did You Know… Denis Naughten, Minister of Communications, has proposed introducing large scale bins to be placed outside supermarkets? The goal of this, according to the minister, is to reduce waste outside the source, according to thejournal.ie.
Did You Know… Coop Sweden is introducing a new range of sweets into its stores, which contain 95% less sugar and up to 50% fewer calories than traditional sweets. The candy, produced by newly-formed Swedish company Tweek, was trialled in ten Coop stores earlier this year, and will now be introduced to another 100 stores throughout Sweden.
Did You Know… The Kilkenny Craft Beer festival takes place from July 5th to the 8th? Last year, 40 breweries, with over 180 beers, participated in the festival, and this year will reportedly be even larger.
Did You Know... 48% of Irish working millennials would like or enjoy a dog-friendly workplace? New research performed by Purina PetCare also shows that more than a third of Irish employers would like to put a dog-friendly policy in place, while 24% already have one.
