Manor Farm Wins Repak Recycling Award

Chicken producer Manor Farm and Irish Packaging Recycling Limited won two of the most prestigious awards at the Repak Recycling Awards event, which took place in Kilkenny on October 20.

The awards saw the Meath and Cavan-based Manor Farm presented with the Repak Member of the Year Award, as well as the Best Packaging Prevention Initiative, while Irish Packaging Recycling Limited (IPR) was awarded the Large Recovery Operator of the Year.

At the ceremony, Repak honoured its members and contractors who had made major contributions to Ireland’s environment through their sustainable recycling habits, awarding members in areas including agriculture, technology and hospitality for their efforts.

Award winners included: Down2Earth Materials, which won the Rapak Sustainable Packaging Design Award; Repak Best Practice Award – Hospitality went to Buswells Hotel; Civic Amenity Site/Recycling Centre of the Year was presented to Kilkenny County Council; Clean Ireland Recycling won Kerbside Collection Service of the Year; Small/Medium Recovery Operator of the Year went to Leinster Environments and Every Can Counts Champions Award was won by Limerick City & County.

Seamus Clancy, Repak General Manager commented, "The Repak Recycling Awards recognises the continuous efforts of our partners and members who do their utmost to help us achieve our packaging and recycling goals. The nominees for this year’s awards have all showed remarkable focus and determination in delivering best practice in packaging reduction and that’s why they are here today."
