Tesco Ireland customers will benefit from an extra 33% fill of tomatoes over the course of the next week to ten days at no extra cost.

Grown exclusively for Tesco Ireland by the Currid family, the San Marzano tomato is a variant of the plum tomato family but 'is thinner and longer in shape'.

The Co. Waterford, tomato grower brought the 'extra crop to the table to avoid crop waste due to over-supply'
"Our customers will now benefit from the bumper pack of summer ripened tomatoes and our long-standing supplier is able to shift this bumper yield. We’re committed to cultivating our relationships with our suppliers to avoid good quality, edible food from going to waste”.
