Walls Honest Chips Secures 12-Month Aldi Contract In €1m Deal

Aldi Ireland today announced that it has agreed a new €1 million deal with Cork-based Walls Honest Chips to supply its 142 Irish stores.

The 12-month contract will see Walls Honest Chips supply its ‘fakeaway’ chips to Aldi, which are made with potatoes and beef dripping and provide the authentic ‘chipper chips’ taste at home, the discounter said.

Based in Whitegate, Walls Honest Chips is a family-run business set up in 2017 by Kieran Wall.

"Having our Walls Honest Chips stocked in Aldi stores nationwide is a huge achievement for us. We have also been working closely with the South Cork Local Enterprise Office, who helped us get this product off the ground," Wall said.

The product was one of the overall Grow with Aldi winners in 2019, and following a successful six months on sale, its listing has been extended for a further 12 months, the retailer said.

"Thanks to the Grow with Aldi programme, in the space of six months we have grown our workforce to six staff and quadrupled production. This new contract provides real security during a very challenging time for Irish producers, and the potential to develop our business further,” Wall added.
