Since 2012 business leaders from the tech, pharma, professional services, communications and engineering and construction industries have been supporting Focus Ireland’s Shine A Light Night where Business Leaders, CEO’s and MD’s sleep-out for one night and raise funds and awareness for Focus Ireland; this year the charity is reaching out to business leaders from the FMCG sector.
Shine A Light Night is the charity’s flagship campaign, more than 400 of Ireland’s top business leaders from Google, Facebook, Toyota, PayPal and Bord Gáis Energy, have taken part, sending a strong message of solidarity with Focus Ireland.
The charity works with more than 1200 families, including 2,777 children, moving them out of unsuitable, temporary and emergency accommodation and into their own home. However the problem is getting worse with more than 70 families becoming homeless in Ireland every month.
Focus Ireland is aware of the important role FMCG goods play in the lives of consumers nationwide, including those accessing homeless services, for this reason the charity believes now, more than ever, is the right time for the industry to get behind the campaign.
