10 Irish Finalists Heading To The 2023 Junk Kouture World Final

EUROSPAR supermarkets recently sponsored the Irish Grand Final of Junk Kouture, which saw 80 secondary students from around Ireland take to the catwalk at the 3Arena to model their sustainable couture designs.

The clothes – made from upcycled junk and recycled materials – were showcased in front of an audience of friends, family, teachers and classmates.

The designs included outfits made from train tickets, cattle tags, bottle caps and burst footballs.

Commenting on the Irish Grand Final, Peter Dwan, sales director, EUROSPAR, said, “As an official sponsor, EUROSPAR was delighted to be associated with this wonderful event.

“This was a tremendous sponsorship opportunity for EUROSPAR and our retailers, and speaks directly to our ambitious sustainability goals and our stated Responsible Retailing commitment.”

Following a tough deliberation from judges Louis Walsh, Keilidh Cashell, Tara Kumar and Stephen McLaughlin, ten designs were selected to represent Ireland in the 2023 Junk Kouture World Final, which takes place in OVO Arena Wembley in London on 12 October.

Ireland’s ten finalists will compete against students from Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Milan and New York to become the Junk Kouture World Designer of the Year.

According to the retailer, the Junk Kouture Dublin City Final 2023 Powered by RTÉ was filmed for TV and will be broadcast on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player later this year.
