200th Subway Sandwich Outlet Opens In Naas

The 200th Subway outlet in Ireland has opened in the Monread Centre in Naas, Co. Kildare. Rugby star Tommy Bowe, who stars in the Subway TV commercial, was on hand to open the new store.

The new store opening will create five new jobs in the local community and will be operated by Naas based Subway franchisees, Tom and Barbara Ward.

“Ireland is a great success story for the Subway brand as evidenced by our strong growth over the past few years," said Muriel O’Grady, Development Agent for the Subway brand in Ireland. "In the midst of the recession we invested and grew our network and it is a great achievement to be opening the 200th Subway store in Ireland.

“We are a strong team of independent entrepreneurs working collectively to grow our business by providing excellent food, service and value. As well as the service we provide to customers we are also supporting the economy wherever we can and in the past year alone the Subway brand used over 400,000 beef patties produced in Ireland and using 100% Irish beef sourced from certified quality assured farms. It’s something we are immensely proud of and ensures that we serve the communities in Ireland in more ways than one.”
