Aldi Continues Supplier Partnership With Irish Country Meats For New Spring Lamb

Aldi has announced that the first season new Irish spring lamb of 2014 will go on sale in its stores next Monday, marking the continuation of its supply agreement with Irish Country Meats of Camolin, Co. Wexford.

The company has been working in partnership with Aldi for over seven years, supplying prime lamb products for the retailer's Nature’s Isle range.

"We are passionate about great tasting, home-grown lamb. Our passion and dedication to excellence is mirrored by Aldi in the standards they set for fresh Irish meat in the marketplace today," said Michael O’Brien of Irish Country Meats Sales Team.

"Irish Country Meats has worked in tandem with Aldi for over seven years now and it’s very rewarding to see our businesses grow in partnership, and know that our products will be on the shelves of the fastest-growing retailer in the country.”

A recent independent survey of fresh meat in supermarkets showed that Aldi sells the highest proportion of fresh Irish meat labelled with the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Mark, with 78% of its fresh meat range achieving the 'mark'.
