Aldi Opens Its 119th Irish Store In Wilton

Aldi Stores (Ireland) today opened a new store in Wilton, further increasing its presence in Cork City. The new store will create 20 new jobs and will bring quality fresh Irish products and value to customers in Cork City.

The new Wilton store is Aldi’s 19th store in Co. Cork and Aldi’s seventh in the city bringing the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 119.  The first Aldi store in Ireland opened in November 1999.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Aldi held a grand opening filled with family fun and festivities, with entertainers providing face painting, balloon modelling and games for the kids.  The RedFM team were also on site playing music, while five lucky Aldi shoppers scooped €100 each in Aldi shopping vouchers.

Speaking at the store opening, Richard Foskett, Manager of Aldi’s new Wilton store said, “Buying fresh, quality Irish foods in Wilton just got easier thanks to the opening of our new Aldi store.  Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a fantastic success and we are looking forward to serving the local community.”
