Applegreen Profits Continue To Rise

Service station operator Applegreen has reported a near doubling of pre-tax profits to €10.1 million for 2013. Applegreen currently holds 12% of the Irish fuels market, operating from 147 forecourt sites, and employing over 2,000 people. Applegreen is the brand under which the company Petrogas operates in the UK and Ireland.

At the end of 2013, it had 75 service stations in Ireland, and 42 in the UK. During 2014, expansion has continued in both the UK and Ireland, with a further opening of two sites on the east coast of the US this April.

Bob Etchingham, chief executive of Petrogas Global said that the trading performance was “particularly commendable given the tough competitive environment […] and tightening fuel margins in the second half of the year.”

Petrogas Global has a number of international strategic partnerships with well known Brands Burger King, Subway, and Costa Coffee and serves food through the aCafe/Bakewell café brands.
