Aramark Ireland has been awarded the contract to provide café and retail convenience services at University Hospital Galway (UHG), following a public procurement process.
The five year retail Convenience/café shop contract, which takes effect in August of this year, includes retail and café services in the main concourse of UHG.
As part of the contract, Aramark will be conducting a refurbishment and upgrade of the retail area in the main concourse of UHG, with project work planned to commence in September 2014.
“This investment demonstrates our commitment to a long term partnership with UHG,” said Frank Gleeson, Managing Director of Aramark Food Services.
“We are acutely aware of the sensitivities of operating within the healthcare environment and our Retail Services team actively works to provide delicious nutritious, healthy food choices, promoting the benefits of a balanced diet in a hospital retail café environment.
“We look forward to developing the retail café offer on site and continuing to welcome and serve hospital staff, visitors and patients to our new look facility.”
