Avoca Opens New Store At Kildare Village, Creates 34 New Jobs

Avoca opened its doors today at Kildare Village, creating 34 new jobs.

Set across 196 square metres of prime, front-facing retail space, Avoca at Kildare Village will be the retailer’s fourteenth store in Ireland.

According to the retailer, the new outlet features products from Avoca’s own-brand collections, along with those from leading Irish designers, across beauty, homeware, and seasonal gifting categories.

In addition to this, the store will stock the retailer’s handwoven throws and soft goods from its mill, ahead of its 300th anniversary next year.

“We are dedicated to showcasing quality Irish produce and unique products woven from the Avoca mill to our customers, and this new store will help us achieve that,” said Shane Flynn, managing director, Avoca.

The new store also features a Parisian-influenced food hut, for shoppers looking to grab convenient snacks.

“The store promises to deliver an inspiring retail and food experience for the local community and destination shoppers,” Flynn added.

“We are committed to expanding in bricks and mortar this year, and Kildare Village is the first of many launches to come.”

‘Creative Experiences’

To celebrate the opening of the new store, the Avoca team has put together a series of creative experiences for its customers.

A series of events will take place from 28 April until 1 May, such as in-store performances by singing waiters to a live-screen print bar, where customers will be encouraged to design and create their own tote bags.

Established in 1723 as a handweaving company, Avoca still produces quality woollen products from its original site in Avoca, Co. Wicklow.
