Certa Ireland Awarded Guaranteed Irish Symbol

Certa has been awarded a Guaranteed Irish symbol in recognition of its commitment to creating sustainable jobs, supporting local communities, and promoting Irish provenance.

Ireland’s largest fuel supplier, which is part of DCC plc, has qualified for the recognition as a home-grown Irish company.

The company employs over 370 people in communities across Ireland through its network.

Certa developed through the amalgamation of Emo Oil, Campus Oil, Jones Oil and DCC Lubricants.

The company supports communities beyond job creation, supporting charities and sponsoring sports initiatives, including the Irish women’s cricket team.

It also developed a number of community-based CSR initiatives, including its volunteering-day programme.

This allows members of its workforce to take a paid day out of the business each year to volunteer.

Certa has partnered with the Open Doors Initiative, providing opportunities to marginalised members of society. It is also now the leading supplier of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) in Ireland.

In supporting these causes, Certa aims to help communities, both with opportunity and by improving sustainability practices.

‘A National Symbol Of Trust’

Speaking about the honour, the managing director of Certa Ireland, Orla Stevens, said, “Certa is very proud to be a home-grown Irish brand that operates at the heart of local communities.

“Certa is committed to supporting local communities across Ireland, and to continually enhancing the service that we offer to domestic, commercial and industrial customers, as we continue to pursue our vision of becoming Ireland’s most progressive energy company.

“We look forward to promoting our Guaranteed Irish credentials as we continue that journey.”

The chief executive of Guaranteed Irish, Bríd O’Connell, added, “We are delighted to welcome Certa as a member of Guaranteed Irish.

“The Guaranteed Irish symbol is a national symbol of trust that is only awarded to companies in Ireland that support sustainable jobs, contribute to local economies, and are committed to Irish provenance.
