Cool Beans Launched In The UK

After less than one year of trade in Ireland with SuperValu and selected Fresh stores, The Cool Bean company has announced that it has officially launched in the UK today in premium retailer, Waitrose.

Cool Beans, a 300g potted, healthy, bean-based meal, comes in three  flavours; smokey paprika, original tomato and hot chilli. It's the latter two of which will retail in 135 Waitrose outlets this week.

The Cool Bean Company was founded by Corkonian, Sarah O’Connor and Tipperary born, Isolde Johnson in 2013, with the aim of providing a no fuss, no nonsense, superhero food. They made an early impact on the music festival circuit before progressing to a retail ready offering in Ireland in September 2014.

Speaking of their latest foray into the burgeoning UK market, founder Isolde Johnson commented, “Launching with a partner like Waitrose in the UK is a huge milestone for us. Waitrose is renowned as innovators in the convenience food market and they have identified the niche that Cool beans fill in that sector - an uncompromisingly fast, healthy, delicious meal or side dish for those who don’t have time to cook from scratch but care about what they eat and serve to their families.”

“One of the greatest trends that we have noticed in the past year is that our products are more far-reaching than the expected young professional market. Through regular in store sampling, it’s become apparent that Cool Beans are popular amongst busy, conscientious parents too looking for something simple yet diverse to feed their children,” added O'Connor.

Prepared Produce Buyer, Tom Moore of Waitrose Ltd was similarly enthused in a statement on the product's launch, “We are delighted to launch two fantastic new products from Cool Beans into Waitrose, who will be the exclusive retailer. Cool Beans are a fun and unique brand and most importantly the product tastes brilliant, is hugely versatile and healthy!”
