Daybreak And The Irish Heart Foundation Team Up For Annual Active Challenge

Daybreak and long-term charity partner, the Irish Heart Foundation have teamed up once again for their annual active challenge.

The ‘Keep it Moving’ campaign 'challenges Daybreak retailers and staff to complete a marathon in a month throughout September'.

The retailer noted that the goal of the challenge is for Daybreakers to get out and get active to improve their fitness and heart health – all while raising funds for an incredible cause.

Over 150 Daybreak stores nationwide are taking part in the challenge over the month of September, it added.

Participants will commit to completing a marathon (42.195km) over the month and will ask customers, family, and friends to sponsor them to achieve the fundraising target.

Molly Byrne, assistant brand manager, Daybreak, commented, “When creating this challenge, our focus was creating something Daybreakers could get involved in no matter what their fitness level.

"The challenge aims to celebrate movement, championing participation rather than perfection and allows participants to take part in the challenge at their own pace.

"The thought of a marathon can be daunting; however, taking it one day at a time and participating according to your own fitness level can make this task achievable with the right mindset and motivation."

The Foundation offers support to stroke survivors and those living with heart disease by offering a variety of both in person and online services.

Speaking on the partnership Cliodhna Burke, senior business development manager, Irish Heart Foundation, said, "Our vision is a future where no hearts are broken by preventable heart disease and stroke and the generosity of Daybreak, and their customers can help us achieve this."
