Dee’s Wholefoods has been recognised as a leading light in the Irish SME sector, along with seven other Cork companies. The Cork companies were acknowledged for their contribution to enterprise and innovation across the island of Ireland.
The eight companies were among 63 businesses from across Ireland to be awarded the title of ‘Business Ambassador’ by InterTradeIreland.
The awards were presented at a special event held in the Mansion House in Dublin, hosted by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.
Health food entrepreneur, Dee Collins, launched Dee’s Wholefoods in 2008. The firm produces a range of meal and snack options, including Wholefood burgers, made with ancient grains, beans and ‘superfood’ seeds. Dee’s range also includes protein and fibre-rich Delicious Dishes, with fresh vegetables.
Dee Collins spoke at the event, saying she is: "delighted to be an InterTradeIreland Business Ambassador.
"The Elevate Programme, delivered by Cork-based Bullseye Food Marketing, was a first step in gaining a cross-border export account. It provided the key skills that paved the way to exporting to the UK and the UAE."
