Did you know ...? JP McMahon of Aniar and Cava Bodega has founded and launched a new food network Blas Na Gaillimhe - A Taste of Galway. The hub will be an online space that showcases the very best of what Galway has on offer to eat, drink and stay when visiting Galway as well as the producers who supply the restaurants, cafés, and bars. Food events, promotions, and the latest news can be accessed on one platform. JP McMahon of Aniar and Cava Bodega, said, "The content created, the website listings and the information provided will leave a legacy that provides year-round information for visitors to the Galway food and drink scene. We believe this food network can grow in future years and make the food scene a crucial component of the promotion of Galway as a tourism destination”.

Did you know ...? Spar has launched an in-store and digital campaign to coincide with the 95th Academy Awards. More commonly known as ‘The Oscars’, the leading conveniencerRetailer has introduced a special Chicken Fillet Roll recipe to celebrate the record 14 Irish nominations at the 2023 edition of the awards. Borrowing the letters O-S-C-A-R, Spar noted that it has created the Onion-Salsa-Chicken-Avocado-Roll to celebrate Ireland’s Hollywood success with a California twist on ingredients. To further amplify the activity, a digital campaign including a consumer competition to win Spar Deli vouchers was launched across the brand’s social media channels over the weekend, in which Facebook and Instagram users were encouraged to get into the Hollywood spirit by suggesting fun alternative food-based movie titles, with Jurassic Pork and Reservoir Hotdogs kicking off the suggestions.

Did you know ...? Anuga, the world's leading trade fair for food and beverages, has announced 'Sustainable Growth' as the key theme for its 2023 edition, reports ESMmagazine.com. The food industry is facing significant challenges, including a growing population that is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, rising demand for foodstuffs, and global climate change, water and energy shortages, and the loss of biodiversity. Anuga is placing emphasis on the commitment and solutions of the industry to address these challenges, especially with regards to environmental and climate-related aspects.

Did you know ...? Domino's Pizza Group Plc reported a drop in full-year profit on Thursday, due to higher costs and investments in cloud-based technology platforms, sending its shares down 6%, reports Reuters. The group said its underlying core profit was £130.1 million ($154.4 million) for the year ended 25 December, compared with £136.4 million in the previous year.
