Dingle Named Top 'Foodie Town Of Ireland’

Dingle has been selected as the ‘Top Foodie Town of Ireland 2014’. The award, run by The Restaurants Association of Ireland in conjunction with Admailer from An Post, seeks to drive in more customers and raise the profile of local areas using Admailer.ie.  Dingle will be awarded a prize package worth €5,000, made up of an Admailer.ie postcard marketing package and the opportunity to work alongside senior An Post marketing executives. Amie Peters, Head of Direct Mail from An Post said “An Post and Admailer.ie are delighted to support in inaugural Foodie Town of Ireland award. It was a fantastic first year with so many outstanding towns entering, the competition was certainly fierce. We’re looking forward to working with the 9 shortlisted towns, and the winning town, Dingle, to drive more customers into their local areas using Admailer.ie”. Competition came from Cork City, Westport & Clew Bay Area, Galway City, Howth, Kilkenny, Kinsale, Lisdoonvarna, Loop Head Peninsula and Sligo Town, which will all receive an Admailer.ie package worth €500. The "Foodie Town of Ireland" award praised Dingle for it's self promotion "through joint activities such as food festivals, gourmet trails and farmers markets as well as great dining experiences." The strength of Dingle's producer/supplier network was also recognised by judges, as well as its "active plans for future growth and investment in the food and hospitality industry at a local level."
