Donegal Creameries saw a drop in profits for the first half of 2012 despite a 12.5 per cent increase in turnover. The company noted a pre-tax profit of €150,000 for the first half of the year, down from €1.07 million for the same period in 2011. It attributed the drop to a “difficult European and South American season for seed potatoes due to temporary market oversupply”.
