A Spar retailer from Kinlough, Co Leitrim sold the National Lottery’s winning ticket at the weekend. Noel McGowan, who owns McGowan’s Spar in Kinlough, says the identity of the lucky person is who scooped the prize money in the weekend draw is still unknown.
“We are absolutely delighted for the winner. We would like to wish them the best of luck and we hope that they enjoy their good fortune. It has created a great buzz for the locality,” said Noel.
Kinlough has a population of just over 350 people and the village is abuzz with speculation as to who might have won the €11,179,621 jackpot.
"Everyone is checking their tickets and wondering who it is but no one knows yet," said Noel. There’s lots of rumours and speculation. We’ve no idea yet. There were lots of passersby on Saturday.”
Noel has sold winning Lottery tickets before: “Last October we sold a Lotto Plus jackpot of €250,000 and 10 years ago there was a lotto jackpot of €3m with six winners, we sold two of those winners. They each got €225,000,” he explained.
The winning numbers were 10, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19.
