Operating Profits At Insomnia Soared To €4m Last Year

Operating profits at the Insomnia reached in the region of €4 million in 2018.

The figure compares with €848,000 the same period the year previous,  reports the Irish Independent. 

The coffee chain  revenue last year reached €30.9 m, which compared with €28.7 million, the year previous, according to accounts just filed for its parent firm, BHJ Holdings.

Kerr's Departure 

The coffee company was co-founded by entrepreneur and Newstalk host Bobby Kerr almost 22 years ago.

Kerr announced in 2017 that he was set to leave Insomnia, having led the company for many years.

At the time he agreed the sale of his shares to the other shareholders in the business.

At the time of Kerr's departure he was succeeded by John Clohisey who become chairman.
