The Irish Grocers Development Fund (IGBF) has appointed Des Redmond as Development Director. He joins IGBF from marketing communications company Synergis Marketing and Communications.
Redmond is well-known within the industry, and boasts over 20 years of international and domestic senior management experience, with brands including Boots Ireland, Spar Ireland, Thorn EMI and Xtravision. He holds an MBA in strategic marketing From Henley Business College, London.
This appointment was made following a major strategic review by the IGBF, in order to address the difficulties encountered in recent years within the charitable environment and to adopt a greater emphasis on sustainable fundraising and repositioning of the organisation over the coming years.
The IGBF currently assists over 290 families and individuals monthly from both the retail and supplier sectors and is entirely funded by voluntary donations. www.igbf.ie
