Joyce's Toasts Victory At Retail Excellence Ireland Awards

Joyce's Supermarket Headford has been named as the Best Grocery Store 2016 at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards, held in association with Barclaycard.

The event was a good one for Galway all round, as Brendan Lydon, part of the butcher team at Nestor's SuperValu Oranmore, was named Rising Star of the Year.

Other award winners included Topaz Cashel in Tipperary, which took the award for Best Forecourt Store, James Whelan Butchers, Monkstown, Co Dublin, which won the award for Best Butcher Store, and Hickey’s Pharmacy, Ballincollig, Cork, which won the Best Pharmacy Store award. Tilestyle was named National Store of the Year 2016.

Commenting, David Fitzsimons, chief executive, Retail Excellence Ireland said, "I want to commend all of the retailers who entered this year’s Awards. The highest standard of service, customer engagement, display and levels of investment amongst Irish retailers made choosing this year’s winners particularly difficult."

The Awards took were presented by RTE's Hector Ó hEochagáin and Evanne Ní Chuillin, and the event was attended by more than 500 retail industry representatives.
