O’Keeffe’s XL store in Rathmore, Co. Kerry has won the award for Best Customer Service at the XL Store of the Year Awards. Retailers from across Ireland gathered at the Newpark Hotel, Co Kilkenny, for the fifth annual XL Store of the Year awards ceremony run by BWG Foods, owners and operators of the XL brand.
The awards followed a year-long judging programme, which included visits from mystery shoppers. A total of 165 stores entered the awards.
Willie O’Byrne, managing director of BWG Foods, congratulated all 16 winners and 38 finalists on the night. He said, “XL retailers take pride in serving their local community at the highest possible level [...] By striving to meet these exacting standards they help improve not just their own stores, but the XL brand as a whole across Ireland.”
XL was the fastest growing convenience retailer in the country last year, and now has 222 stores.
