Lidl Announce At Least 100 New Jobs Before Christmas

Lidl is to open a second store in Swords Co. Dublin next week and also a store in Glenageary in early December reports Independent.ie.

The new stores will open just in time for Christmas and the jobs will add to the company's contribution to the Irish economy over the last 16 years, which is estimated to be worth in the region of  €1.5bn.

In the new year another two stores will be added in Carbra and Portmarnock, Co. Dublin both of which are already under construction and are due to open in Spring 2017.

According to Managing director JP Scally, Lidl said that they plan to add at least another 500 jobs in the next two years mainly within the Dublin region. "Currently we have 34 locations in the city and county and are looking forward to this increasing substantially over the next year. In July we announced plans to hire an additional 600 jobs over the next 2 years and many of these will be for our new stores in Dublin.” He said.

Lidl have opened over 180 stores across Ireland since 2000.
