Lidl To Rebuild Fortunestown Store

Lidl Ireland has confirmed it will rebuild its store in Fortunestown, almost two weeks after it was looted and destroyed during the recent Beast from the East.

The discount retailer said that construction on the “new and improved” store will start in the coming weeks and is scheduled to reopen by late Summer.

"We are delighted to confirm that plans have been put in place to rebuild the store in Fortunestown following the events that took place on March 2nd," the retailer said. "Building of the new and improved store will commence in the coming weeks, with the new store planned to be open by late Summer."

'Blown Away'

“We've been blown away by the level of support received from our loyal customer base in the Fortunestown area over the past few weeks,” the retailer continued.

“We recognise that our service and store team have been greatly missed by the local community over the past few weeks and the team look forward to welcoming back our loyal customers once the rebuild is complete."
