Londis and its operator BWG Foods last week won separate awards recognising excellence in both sponsorship and logistics.

Londis marketing manager Gillian Rigley thanked collaborators on the successful sponsorship, which has been in place for six seasons of the show.

Rigley said, “The driving force behind the success of Ireland’s Fittest Family sponsorship was a strong collaboration between the teams in Core Sponsorship, Zenith, RTE Media Sales and Londis.

“Together we challenged ourselves to integrate this TV sponsorship into Londis stores across the country and the hearts and minds of our shoppers.

She concluded, “There has been a trust that was nurtured between all of us, and we all had the same goal, to make Ireland’s Fittest Family sponsorship a huge success.”

The title award recognises high standards set by BWG Foods’ National Distribution Centre.

The company also received the Own Account Transport Operator of the Year award.

This honours major achievement over the past 12 months from a company that operates its own fleet of vehicles to distribute their own goods.

BWG Foods was selected due to its continued improvements towards sustainable transport solutions and increased efficiency in its logistics and transport network.

Chief operations officer of BWG Foods Simeon Marriott said, “Operating a logistics and distribution operation of such an immense scale requires deep methodology, precision, efficiency, and an openness to innovation and continuous improvement.”

Marriott acknowledged “an exceptional team” at the centre of the operations, calling the awards a “testament to their unwavering passion and determination.”

He concluded, “We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far but are equally determined to keep pushing forward to ensure that we can continue to deliver an industry leading service to our customers.”

BWG Foods’ sophisticated logistics and distribution operation serves a network of over 1,000 stores. It also serves 14,000 business to business (B2B) customers through its wholesale division.
