Cork-based wholesaler and cash and carry M&P O’Sullivan is celebrating 110 years in business with the announcement of a new expansion phase, and as a member of the Gala group, a sponsorship deal with Team Ireland in the Special Olympics.
The business recently expanded its warehouse and workforce by 20%, meaning its 46,000 sq ft facility in Wilton now supports 50 jobs in Cork.
Through its Gala franchise, and Homestead and White Hat brands, M&P O’Sullivan also supports 200 additional jobs. It opened two new Gala stores this year in Bandon and Ballyphehane and plans to open a further five stores across Cork in the next 12 months.
“As one of Cork’s oldest and most established companies, we are of course reflecting on the past this year, but more importantly we have a renewed focus on the future. You can’t survive in business this long without continually refreshing and developing the business,” commented director James O Sullivan.
As one of the shareholders of Gala Retail Services, M&P O’Sullivan and Gala and have recently announced that Gala as an official sponsor of Team Ireland with Special Olympics Ireland.
The six-figure deal includes both sponsorship rights and a significant activation budget, and will help Irish athletes travel to and compete at July’s World Summer Games in Los Angeles.
Co-director of the wholesaler business, Pat O’Sullivan will join the team in LA as a director of Gala Retail Services Ltd, and to represent M&P.
