The National Grocery Retail Awards highlight best-in-class performance in retailing and honour the companies and suppliers that help Ireland’s pioneering stores and retail chains to achieve levels of service and product excellence that set them apart from their competitors.
“Over the past number of months, we have had the immense pleasure of visiting Ireland’s leading grocery retail outlets and experiencing first-hand the extremely high operating and service standards that each of this year’s entrants has achieved,” says Maev Martin, editor, Checkout magazine.
“The standard of entries this year was extraordinarily high, and myself and all the team at Checkout are eagerly looking forward to sharing the results of our judging deliberations on 29 November.”
The winners of this year’s National Grocery Retail Awards will be revealed in a virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday 29 November at 12pm.
All stores that entered the National Grocery Retail Awards were visited at least twice and, in some cases, on multiple occasions during the judging process. To get through the first round of judging, each store was subjected to a comprehensive review by a mystery shopper, who had a checklist of more than 100 factors that s/he took into consideration when assessing the store. For those lucky enough to get through to the second round, there were visits by the Checkout panel of judges.
