Spar Ireland has issued an apology after a sign seeking deli staff for a store in Dublin's IFSC asked for 'female only' applicants.
Pictures of the sign, which read: "Full Time Deli Staff Required. Enquire Within With CV. Females Only" spread across social media today, Thursday 6 March.
“As soon as this was brought to SPAR Ireland’s attention, we contacted the independent retailer and asked them to take the sign down immediately," the group said in a statement.
"The retailer has taken down the sign and has apologised for the error and any offence caused. SPAR Ireland is an equal opportunities employer.”
