Starbucks Names Mellody Hobson As Head Of Its Board

Starbucks Corp has named vice chair Mellody Hobson as the head of its board.

She is taking over as a non-executive chair from Myron Ullman, who is retiring in March.

15 Years Of Service

Hobson, co-chief executive officer of asset manager Ariel Investments LLC, was named vice chair in 2018 and has served on Starbucks' board for over 15 years.

Previous Experience

Hobson also serves as a director at JPMorgan Chase, was a director at Estee Lauder Cos, and chaired DreamWorks Animation's board until its sale.
