Tanaiste To Launch Second Feeding Ireland's Future Programme

Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton will launch Feeding Ireland's Future (FIF) 2015 next Monday December 8 at Farmleigh in Dublin. FIF is an initiative by the Irish grocery industry to help tackle youth unemployment.

Food and grocery services and service providers throughout the sector will provide free pre-employment training for young unemployed people.

ECR Ireland developed the initiative in partnership with the Department of Social Protection through its Intreo service. This will be the scheme's second year.

Last year saw 29 companies participate in its 'Skills for Work Week', offering 1,500 places to unemployed young people at skills sessions aimed at helping them find work.
