Tesco Opens New Express Store On Aungier Street

Tesco Ireland has officially opened its newest store - a Tesco Express on Aungier Street, Dublin 2. This is the 23rd Express store to open in Dublin and the 36th Express store nationwide.

Store Manager Karl Caffrey said: “We are delighted to open the doors of our new Tesco Express store on Aungier Street today. The store will be a great addition to the local community which is a high population area with approx. 5,000 people living within 500 metres of the store.

“Our new store is perfect for those who want to grab food on the go. The menu will change up to three times a day offering breakfast in the morning, lunch at mid-day and dinner options throughout the afternoon and evening. We have a fantastic fresh food offering and are looking forward to welcoming customers through our doors in the coming days.”

The new Tesco Express store is over 235 square meters and had over 500 meters of shelving. The new store offers a variety of options including a salad bar, fresh meats, cooked meats, a bakery, deli goods, dairy goods, dry groceries, frozen foods, news and magazines, and a selection of beers and wines.

Tesco Aungier St. store is also part of the Tesco Ireland partnership with food cloud, which sees it donate surplus food to local charities. Tesco is now one of the five largest private sector employers in Ireland, employing nearly 15,000 people nationally with some 5,000 people employed in Dublin alone.
