Two Thirds Of Checkout Conference Delegates Say SuperValu 'Doing The Most To Support Irish'

Two thirds of attendees at today's Checkout Conference, in association with Rabobank, feel that SuperValu is 'putting its money where its mouth is' when supporting Irish suppliers.

Close to 200 delegates at the conference were asked the question 'Most Irish retailers put forward a message that they are "proud to support Irish producers". But which supermarket do you think puts their money where their mouth is, and actively supports Irish producers the most?

SuperValu topped the poll, with 66.4% of the vote, followed by Aldi (10.9%), Dunnes Stores (9.2%), Tesco (7.6%) and Lidl (1.7%).

The question was one of a series of posed to the audience over the course of the day.

Following an enjoyable morning session, the conference continues after lunch with a panel discussion on 'What Next For Brands', followed by an appearance by retail entrepreneur Eamonn Quinn.
