XL Wins Best Low Budget Sponsorship Award For Ros Na Run Store

Retailer XL has won the Best Low Budget Sponsorship award at the annual Irish Sponsorship Awards held recently in Dublin.

XL was recognised for its ongoing support of the Irish language through its sponsorship with TG4’s flagship Irish soap; Ros na Rún.

The store, branded XL Siopa, is entering the second year on set.

'A Great Honour'

“Considering the massive competition faced within this category from many different sectors of the industry, it’s a great honour for the XL brand to receive national recognition for this sponsorship,” John Moane, managing director, BWG Foods Wholesale, operators of the XL brand, said.

“XL stores are known for the prominent role they play in community life across the villages, towns, and cities throughout Ireland and this sponsorship platform has provided a unique opportunity for XL to demonstrate this on a national broadcast platform.”

The store in question is supported by a development manager from Xl, who ensures the store is stocked, merchandised and well presented for filming, like a “real life” store.

XL has approximately 250 real-life stores across Ireland, providing up to 2,500 jobs.
