Dairy Hygiene Group Kersia Announces Acquisition Of Food Safety Group Kilco

Kersia, the dairy hygiene group, has announced that it has acquired Scotish-based Kilco, which specialises in animal health and food safety, according to Agriland.ie.

Kersia, whose brands include Hypred, Anti-Germ and LCB Food Safety, has previously made four strategic acquisitions over the last 18 months in a bit to strengthen its position as a ‘pure player’ in food safety across the entire chain.

Animal Health & Food Safety

Kilco has two productions sites, one in Mallusk, Ireland, and the other in Lockerbie, UK. The group specialises in animal health, in particular, hygiene and disinfection solutions, nutritional complements and care products.

The company also exports bio-security solutions to more than 70 countries. It conducts more than 40% of its business internationally.

Kersia will now be able to broaden its range of solutions, particularly in the pig and poultry sectors, branch into the poultry field (where Kilco is well established) and to strengthen its geographical reach.

“With the acquisition of Kilco, we are continuing our 18-month-long development and strengthening our leading position in Europe, but also our pure player positioning in food safety for the entire food chain in the world,” said Sebastien Bossard, CEO of Kersia.

“We now have an industrial base in the UK and are completing our facilities in Ireland, which is essential to gaining market shares in this strategic area.”
