Enterprise Ireland Hosts Leading International Food Businesses At London Event

Enterprise Ireland has hosted UK food industry experts, leading investment institutions and over 75 key decision makers at an event at the Embassy of Ireland, London, to discuss engaging leading international food companies with the Irish food industry.

At the event, titled 'Accelerate Your Business in Europe', Michael Cantwell, Enterprise Ireland Head of Food, said: "Enterprise Ireland is proactively in the market looking for new projects for Ireland as well as working together with the international food companies already in Ireland.

"We help our partners to grow their business from Ireland, creating value for them and enabling them to create new jobs in Ireland."

Addressing the attendees, Minister of State Tom Hayes TD said "we aim to make Ireland the go-to European location for mobile food manufacturing operations. Ireland has strength and depth in the food and food-related sectors and is gearing up to deliver sustained export growth."

Minister Hayes met with Ranjit Singh, CEO of 2 Sisters Food Group, at the event, congratulating him on the latest Green Isle €30 million investment creating 115 new jobs in Ireland.

Over €87 million was invested by European companies in the Irish agri-food sector in 2013. Almost 50% came from the UK, making it one of Ireland’s most important sources of investment in the sector.
