Deliveroo Teams Up With Saba And L’Art Du Chocolat To Create Spice Bag Easter Egg

Deliveroo has announced that it has teamed up with Saba and the experts at L’Art du Chocolat to create Ireland’s first-ever spice bag-inspired Easter egg.

Typically, the fast-food dish consists of deep-fried salt-and-chilli chips, salt-and-chilli chicken (usually shredded, occasionally balls/wings), red and green peppers, sliced chilli peppers, fried onions, and a variety of spices.

“We go loco for spice bags at Deliveroo, so – naturally – we wanted to pay homage to this behemoth of Irish takeaway culture with a very special Easter egg,” commented Arabella Jenkins, Deliveroo.

“It’s truly unique and sure to delight the senses.”

The online delivery platform explained that the Easter egg is made of Tropilia Noire – a decadently rich chocolate with a rounded flavour profile that has savoury notes – and hand-rolled in fiery chillies.

It is also encrusted with salt crystals of the finest quality and mounted on a spicy ganache, evocative of the spice bag’s flavouring, the company added.

To top it all off, the egg is ‘adorned with zingy lime-green shards that pack a flavourful punch and represent the fresh notes in a spice bag’.

Nicolas Bateau, chocolatier and co-founder of L’Art du Chocolat, said, “It’s not every day you’re challenged with turning an Irish takeaway classic into a knockout Easter egg.

“It’s been a delight working with Deliveroo on this weird and wonderful egg, and we hope Saba’s spice bag devotees enjoy it as much as we do!”

Exclusive Availability

This one-of-a-kind egg will be available exclusively to Saba customers who order through Deliveroo.

A limited amount of eggs will be gifted to customers who order spice bags over the Easter weekend.

“At Saba, we’re passionate about spice bags,” added Alan Cadden.

“We love that Deliveroo gives this Irish phenomenon its due respect.”
