Glanbia Dairy Ingredients Ireland has been presented with a global award for 'Best in Relative Carbon Reduction (2011-12)' at the Carbon Trust Standard Bearers Conference in London. The award commemorates Glanbia's efforts to cutting their own carbon emissions, and putting necessary programs in place to ensure reductions are increased.
“Glanbia’s achievement demonstrates that growth can be decoupled from carbon and you can grow a business without proportionally increasing carbon emissions," Darran Messem, Managing Director of Certification, Carbon Trust, said in a statement. "This award demonstrates Glanbia’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment, lowering its costs and meeting customer demand for lower carbon products."
