Ireland’s largest online Coeliac community, Gluten Free Ireland, is organising an expo on April 5 in Marine Hotel, Ballycastle Co. Antrim. The free event aims to raise awareness of the importance of gluten free food and will showcase over a dozen of the biggest gluten free brands from the local and international marketplace such as Riso Gallo and Dunola.
From 1pm to 4pm visitors are invited to engage with producers, supporters and agencies from within the gluten free food production and distribution industries.
Gluten Free Ireland Marketing Director Michael Thompson whose parents Derek and Christina founded Gluten Free Ireland in 2010 said, “With Coeliac disease affecting one out of every hundred people in Ireland the need for gluten free options in catering venues is paramount”
In the past five years public awareness and diagnosis of Coeliac has been on the rise leading to many eating establishments, such as the Marine Hotel now offering gluten free food and drink.
